Usually applied as a child’s permanent teeth erupt, sealants protect the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. Additionally, adult molars can also be sealed, as long as a tooth does not show evidence of decay. The sealants that we use on both children and adults have been very successful in discouraging decay.
